KUCHING: The second day of the Sarawak Regatta 2024 saw a surge in attendance as thousands flocked to the Kuching Waterfront to witness the thrilling races.

An estimated 10,000 spectators were drawn to the event, eager to cheer on teams from as far as Lawas, Belaga, and Mulu.

A total of 12 preliminary rounds and two final rounds were held today (Nov 2), encompassing both local and open categories.

The day’s schedule included eight morning races and six afternoon races.

The highlight of the day was expected to be the Mixed Kenyalang 20-Paddlers and Men’s Kenyalang 20-Paddlers (IPTA/IPTS) races.

The climax of the Sarawak Regatta 2024 will take place tomorrow (Nov 3), with 14 final races set to electrify the atmosphere.

Esteemed guests, including the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, are expected to grace the event.
