KUCHING: Some 250 needy families had received a donation of food supplies and personal sanitation packages from Yayasan Petronas in conjunction with the forthcoming Chinese New Year celebrations.
The donation was initiated under Yayasan Petronas’ Sentuhan Kasih (the touch of love) programme which is also an essential part of Petronas’ corporate community well-being and development focus area.
The programme which is in line with Petronas’ sustainability agenda also followed the United Nations sustainable development goals
“We hope these contributions will enable them to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year in a more meaningful way,” said Petronas Sarawak general manager, Zulaihi M Mantali.
“We want to share the delight of Chinese New Year with the public who are less fortunate and underprivileged … justifiably the ones hardest hit by the on-going Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
The contributed supply of goods including rice, cooking oil, sugar, canned food, and dry food, salt, eggs, flour, biscuits, malt drinks, face masks and hand sanitisers were distributed to the recipients by the Social Welfare Department (JKM), on behalf of Petronas.
