KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak graduate Dollyrissia Lainers Debra has described her MBA as one of the tremendous achievements in her life.
“I did not expect to get this far as during my studies, I had to work and look after my children, but my determination coupled with support from my loving husband helped me complete my Master of Business Administration (International),” the 38-year-old told New Sarawak Tribune at the university’s graduation ceremony here.
Dollyrissia, who is an administrative officer at Swinburne Sarawak, said she had to be wise in managing her time.
“It’s not that hard when you really manage your time and have support from your loved ones.”
Meanwhile, Adeel Liaquat, a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) graduate, said studying at Swinburne Sarawak had been a wonderful experience.
“I cannot thank enough all the lecturers, friends, everyone for helping me feel at home, especially during the first year,” said the 25-year-old from Pakistan.
“To me, people here are extraordinary. While studying here, I get to experience the different food and culture as well.”
Adeel added that Swinburne Sarawak was one of the finest places to pursue one’s studies.
He said if an opportunity came up, he would like to work here but for the time being, it’s back to his hometown to look for a job and to be with his beloved parents.
Meanwhile, Swinburne University of Technology vice-chancellor Prof Linda Kristjanson believed that the graduates would put to good use what they had learnt and experienced at Swinburne Sarawak.
At Swinburne Sarawak’s 19th graduation ceremony yesterday, 311 students graduated.
Three graduates received their Doctor of Philosophy -Swinburne Sarawak has produced 32 PhD holders since 2012.
