KUCHING: Naim Group of Companies paid tribute to George Yong Nyan Ted of Architecture Design Practice (ADP), who had been instrumental in the Group’s developments for the past 25 years.
The late George was the architect who designed the Group’s multi-award winning Naim Sapphire Condominium Homes situated at Batu Lintang Road here.
Naim organised a topping-up ceremony in commemoration of the late George and to symbolise the upcoming completion of Naim Sapphire’s George Y. Residence named after him on Monday (Oct 5).
The ceremony was attended by Naim’s chairman, Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi, the group’s managing director, Datuk Hasmi Hasnan as well as the late George’s spouse, Irene Lim who is also an architect and partner of ADP and family members.
Hasmi said the naming of George Y. Residence is about the story of a man whose vision and perseverance helped to create what will be a benchmark in luxurious living in this region.
“Our chairman, Datuk Amar Hamed Sepawi and I knew George many years ago, when George and I just started our businesses. I remember him as someone who was enthusiastic, visionary and very driven in whatever he did.
“In fact, George was very much a part of our Group of Companies’ 25-year journey, as we had collaborated in many of our property developments,” he said.
According to Hasmi, the Naim Saphhire’s George Y. Residence was the result of a dream to benchmark in luxury living in the community.
“The George Y. Residence was the result of our dream of bringing a benchmark in luxury living to our communities, a personification of the residents within the development.
“We call it ‘a penthouse tower’— it’s a low-density development featuring not only the luxury of space, but also conveniences such as lifts accessing directly to your unit, your exclusive foyer and many more,” he explained.
Hasmi added that the works for the tower are expected to complete in December this year and he hopes that the unveiling can be done soon after.
He also said that there will be something very exciting in store in conjunction with Naim’s 25th anniversary celebration which will commence on October 15.
