KUCHING: Sarawak will be the first in the world to produce biofuel from phyto plants.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said he would announce in the next two months, the innovative scientific technology to produce biofuel from phyto plant researches.
“Wait for two months, I will make the announcement. This is a breakthrough in our scientific innovation, and it will be the first in the world,” he told reporters after officiating at the handover of a project for SK Merpati Jepang’s new administrative and academic blocks on Wednesday (March 22).
Abang Johari said the state will have the intellectual property (IP) for this and as such would further boost the economic developments in Sarawak.
