KOTA SAMARAHAN: A car believed to have been abandoned by the roadside overnight, caused an accident along Jalan Batu 15 Expressway here today (Mar 19) resulting in a driver sustaining light injuries.
It was learnt the Proton Iswara was left by the roadside without any warning lights or hazard signs to warn passing motorists.
The accident occurred around 10.50am when a Perodua Kelisa driven by a 43-year-old man, failed to notice the vehicle and rear-ended it.
The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles and the victim sustained light injuries to his chest.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from its Kota Samarahan station were rushed to the scene after an emergency call came in.
On arrival, they administered first aid to the injured victim before taking him to the Sarawak Heart Centre for further treatment.
