KUCHING: The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) welcomes Abang Arabi Abang Aimran as its new chief executive officer (CEO), succeeding former CEO Zolkipli Aton.

According to a statement released on SFC’s official Facebook page, Abang Arabi expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to fortify and enhance SFC’s foundation, aiming to propel the organisation to greater heights in line with its mission and vision.

“I wish to express my deep appreciation for the incredible performance of SFC, accomplished in the past years under the guidance and leadership of my predecessors.

“Strong foundations and direction have been established in the last few years which suit the SFC’s 4 strategic thrusts (Conservation, Rural Transformation, Revenue generation and Eco-Tourism).

“Being the new organisation that vested with two Ordinances, namely the WildLife Protection Ordinance 1998 and National Parks & Nature Reserves Ordinance 1998, we have put our hard effort in ensuring that obligations entrusted to us are executed tremendously,” he said.

Abang Arabi also pledged to integrate good values in SFC’s daily work, as their commitment to conservation, research, and education remains pivotal in preserving Sarawak’s unique ecosystems and ensuring a harmonious balance between development and environmental sustainability.

The concept of 3R (Revisit, Rethink and Recharge), he said, is vital within all the government agencies towards achieving the target for Sarawak to be a developed region in 2030.

He added that SFC is practising a people-oriented management approach, the 3P Management concept (Peoples Development, Peoples Inclusivity and Peoples Integrity), being a technical agency that is always dynamic to suit the current environment changes in this fast-growing country.

“For that matter, we practise the 3P Management Concept. Peoples Development is addressing the issues of skills and capacity building. Peoples Inclusivity looking into the harmonious working environment; and Peoples Integrity is addressing the issue related to values at large. In that sense, the organisation is moving forward with never leaving anyone behind walking alone beside to get everybody to be united, at anywhere and anytime.
