KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was bestowed The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei today (July 15).
According to a post in Sarawakku Facebook, the honour was conferred by the Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien.
“Abang Johari was awarded the First Class of The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, which carries the title ‘Dato Seri Setia’,” Sarawakku said in a statement today.
The Grand Parade Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan as part of the Brunei Sultan’s 78th birthday celebration.
Those present included Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tun Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Also present were the premier’s wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and his wife, Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud.
