SEOUL: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is in South Korea for a two-day working visit.
Upon his arrival yesterday (May 20) at the Gimpo International Airport, he was welcomed by the Malaysian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Datuk Mohd Zamuri Khalid.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, and Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.
Also in the delegation are Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, and the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Hussain.
Earlier, the Premier and his delegation arrived at the hotel at 7.15 pm local time.
Today, Abang Johari will attend a meeting with South Korean Deputy Minister Energy Policy Lee Ho-hyeon, followed by a luncheon with Samsung E&A executive vice president Park Cheonhong, Lotte Chemical senior vice president Kim Yong-hak, and Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) senior vice president Jang Jinhwan.
Later in the afternoon, he is scheduled to visit the Yeongheung Energy Park owned by Korea South-East Power Company (KEON).
Tomorrow, the Premier will attend a briefing session on the Sarawak New Energy Hub (SNEH) and a meeting on the H2biscus Project, followed by the Joint Development Agreement (JDA) signing ceremony between SEDC Energy, Samsung E&A, Lotte Chemicals, and KNOC.
