KUCHING: The Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) marked its 10th anniversary with the launch of the ‘CENTEXS Books of Excellence’, a commemorative publication documenting its decade-long journey in driving technological advancement and innovation in Sarawak.

The book, launched by Premier Datuk Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, captures the evolution of CENTEXS into one of Malaysia’s leading institutions in modern, sustainable technology training.

Its chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani praised the Premier’s vision in steering the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institution towards excellence and expressed optimism for the future.

“As we celebrate the past 10 years, with the Premier’s vision, I foresee a very interesting and bright future for our youth in the next 10 years.

“We are inspired by him as he emphasised the need to be ‘bold and brave’ in the execution of ongoing projects and the exploration of economic sectors that can positively impact national income, particularly in achieving the aspirations of Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

“This necessitates embracing cutting-edge technologies and innovation to enhance productivity and competitiveness across vital industries,” he said.

He said this in his speech during the institution’s 10th anniversary dinner at Waterfront Hotel Kuching last night (Oct 23).

Following this, he highlighted that CENTEXS’ vision has always been clear — a centre for technology excellence that not only meets the needs of today but that also meets the demands of tomorrow and acts as a catalyst for the growth of our industry sectors, particularly in talent development.

“We will continue to adapt and innovate, expanding our programmes to address the skills needed for the next decade and beyond.

“Our aim is to remain the leading and preferred training centre, preparing the workforce of tomorrow with the skills they need to thrive in this rapidly evolving landscape.

“The future is bright, and we are ready to continue our journey of growth, innovation, and excellence. Together, we will continue to make a lasting impact for Sarawak,” he said.
