KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg continued his Raya visits by attending an open house at the residence of advisor to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais, in Petra Jaya here on Tuesday (April 16).
Accompanied by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee, Abang Johari arrived at Naroden’s residence around 11am.
Guests were warmly welcomed to the open house event, which took place on the seventh day of Raya, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The host had prepared an array of Malay delicacies, including daging masak hitam (beef cooked in spicy dark sauce), chicken curry, lemang (glutinous rice cooked in bamboo), laksa noodles, and nasi minyak, among others.
Desserts such as ais batu campur (ABC) and kek lapis (layered cake) delighted attendees, with ABC proving to be a popular choice.
Laughter and lively conversation filled the air as guests enjoyed the delicious food, with some even showcasing their vocal talents at the karaoke section.
Raya songs and Iban tunes resonated throughout the gathering, adding to the festive spirit.
After the open house ceremony, guests took the opportunity to mingle, chat and capture memories through photographs.
