KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg fostered unity at the Iftar gathering, bringing together leaders and members of the community at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here yesterday (Mar 19).

Accompanied by Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, as well as a host of ministers and deputy ministers, and the State Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, the Premier welcomed a diverse crowd, including assemblymen, local leaders, and residents.

Among those present were Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai; Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn; Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; and Minister for Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Julaihi Narawi.

Upon his arrival at 6.30 pm, Abang Johari was warmly greeted by guests before joining them in anticipation of the call to break the fast.

As the call to Maghrib prayer echoed through the hall, the Premier and guests broke their fast together before performing the Maghrib prayer at the assembly hall mosque.

After the prayer, Abang Johari mingled with the guests and continued to enjoy the dinner.

He later, together with the guests, performed the Isyak prayer, followed by congregational Tarawih prayers.
