KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from Naim Gamuda (NAGA) JV Sdn Bhd recently.
The delegation, which was headed by NAIM Holdings Berhad chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi, provided an overview of NAGA’s business operations and updated Abang Johari on its current projects, namely the Pan Borneo Highway and Batang Lupar Bridge No. 2 in Sarawak.
The courtesy call was also meant to foster closer ties and enhance collaboration with the state government.
On the same note, the delegation also took the opportunity to congratulate the Premier and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) on the coalition’s victory of 23 out of 31 parliamentary seats during the 15th general election (GE15).
Also present during the courtesy call were deputy group managing director of Gamuda Berhad Datuk Paul Ha Tiing Tai and group managing director of NAIM Datuk Hasmi Hasnan.
For the record, NAGA is an enterprise in Malaysia, with the main office in Kuching. Established in 2016, it operates in the heavy civil engineering, infrastructure and construction sector.
The Pan Borneo Highway package (WPC-04) is undertaken by NAGA and the scope includes the construction of Batang Lupar Bridge No. 2, Batang Skrang and the Sri Aman Interchange.
Estimated to be completed in March 2023, this expressway promises to revolutionise East Malaysia connectivity, and bring with it unprecedented growth to underdeveloped areas.
