LIMBANG: ABC Club continue be as the best team in Limbang with their latest collection by winning the Limbang FA Cup 2016/2017 final against Tiger FC team through penalties (3-2) at the Limbang Sports Complex, here, on Sunday.
With the win, they took home the Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail challenge trophy and Paulus Palu Gumbang Cup, a trophy, medals and a cash prize of RM2,000.
Tiger FC team who are also known as a strong and experienced team, took the second place to receive a trophy, medals and a cash prize of RM1,000. Joint third place are Highlanders and Ransing teams to receive a trophy, medals and a cash prize of RM500 each.
Assistant Minister of Agriculture, who is also president of Limbang Football Association (LFA), Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail gave away the prizes.
Also present were Limbang District Council Mayor, Councilor Sufian Mohat, Deputy Chairman of the LFA, Alidin @ Brahim Tawar, LFA honorary secretary, Mohd Ghazali Abdul Ajis Cone, vice president of the LFA, who is coach of ABC Club, Bulhaji Wahab, LFA treasurer, Frederick Lalung and LFA executive committee members.
Besides the FA Cup, ABC Club also made an early season success by winning the Sumbangsih Cup.
Meanwhile, Tiger FC emerged champions of Limbang Super League to receive RM3,500, followed by ABC Club (runners-up) to receive RM2,500 and third place won by team Pusaka for a RM1,500 cash prize.
A team from the Lawas district, team Awat-Awat emerged as the Premier League champions to receive a cash prize of RM1,500, followed by the Real Perbems (RM1,000) and joint third IPD Limbang and Ransing teams (RM500).
The prizes were also given away by Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail.
