KUCHING: Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has stressed the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s rapidly evolving world.

During the closing ceremony of the Come Discover Bumi Kenyalang programme here yesterday (May 25), he expressed the state government’s support for initiatives aimed at improving Sarawak and encouraged the younger generation to unleash their innovative potential.

He highlighted the need for holistic development among youth. “They must be easily adaptable to survive during trying times, and they must be loaded with the right kind of knowledge and tools to prepare them for any possibilities in the future.”

Recognising entrepreneurship as a survival skill, Abdul Karim emphasised its significance, stating: “If you have mastered it, you will not go hungry, in fact, you will flourish and benefit those around you too.”

The Come Discover Bumi Kenyalang programme, organised by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Sarawak branch, provided participating students with a comprehensive learning experience and exposure to Sarawak’s culture and environment.
