KUCHING: All refurbishment and construction work for Malaysia Games (Sukma) facilities are expected to be completed by July.

Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said there are three sport facilities where two of them are for sport events and one for the athletes’ accommodation.

“There are two facilities that are totally new where one is for wushu, and another one is the cricket field.

“The progress of upgrading was done behind the scenes and (Deputy State Secretary) Datuk Hii Chang Kee shares the progress of upgrading every Tuesday.”

He said this at a press conference at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here on Wednesday (May 8).

Abdul Karim added that they are working day and night to get everything completed but they do have a contingency plan as well.

“Just in case due to the inclement weather, it might not be able to be completed,” he said.
