KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias will be stepping down as Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPH) chairman upon the expiry of his two-year tenure on May 1, 2023.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, BPH said Abdul Mutalib, who holds a master’s degree in business administration from Governors State University, Illinois, United States, was appointed as its non-executive chairman on May 1, 2021.

Prior to his appointment at Bintulu Port, he was the chief executive officer (CEO) of PR1MA Corporation Malaysia from the year 2013 to 2019 and also the CEO of PR1MA Bhd from 2012 to 2013.

“Abdul Mutalib was also a special officer to the Minister of Works from 2009 to 2011,  political secretary to the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation from 2004 to 2008, a political secretary to the Minister of Finance from  2000 to 2004 as Chase Manhattan Bank (M) Sdn Bhd vice-president from 1994-2000,” the company said. – BERNAMA
