KUCHING: Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg’s willingness to openly talk about matters relating to integrity shoud be appreciated, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister ’s Office (Corporate Affairs), Abdullah Saidol said.
He pointed out for the record, Sarawak was the first state to have its Cabinet Members, all BN State Assemblymen, Political Secretaries and enforcement agencies make the Integrity Pledge during the time of the late Tok Nan (Pehin Sri Adenan Satem).
“Immediately after Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg took over as Chief Minister, he instructed all members of the Cabinet to sign the Corruption Free Pledge after a Cabinet Meeting. This was followed by other state agencies.
“Integrity is part of universal moral values. Any religious book of any faith provides the essence of integrity,” Abdullah said in a statement when commenting on the Chief Minister’s speech at “Amanat Integriti 2017 Bersama Ketua Menteri Sarawak” organised by the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity & Ombudsman) at Pullman Hotel here on Thursday.
