KUCHING: The Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol led a delegation from MBSB Bank to TEGAS Digital Village (TDV) Samajaya, recently.

According to a report from UKAS, Abdullah said that such an initiative was an effort of UKAS, TEGAS and other government agencies to provide explanations and clarifications on the various development plans and investment opportunities available in Sarawak.

“From time to time we will receive visits from various parties either from potential investors who are interested in coming to Sarawak including financial institutions who want to know about their various potential involvements in Sarawak in terms of loan schemes and so on,” he said

Citing the details of the recent speech of the Premier of Sarawak, he stated that the involvement between various government agencies and wakil rakyat is very important to work together actively and proactively.

“This is to ensure that the government’s development agenda can be announced and shared to all parties which can indirectly launch an economic recovery development plan in Sarawak,” he added.

Meanwhile, MBSB Bank’s Chief Treasurer and Capital Markets Officer, Asrul Hazli Salleh said the existence of TDV is a good initiative from the Sarawak government in helping to develop technology-based and digital industries and at the same time.

“We see a lot of digital innovation efforts involving the Sarawak government which I think can have a beneficial impact on the people of Sarawak in particular and it is also possible that MBSB can participate and help in efforts to develop business activities here,” said Asrul.

Earlier, the delegation was briefed on several matters related to the strategic core to accelerate economic growth from the Economic Planning Unit (EPU).
