KUCHING: Invest Sarawak Sdn Bhd serves as a one-stop centre offering consultation and coordination services to investors, with a specific focus on key areas such as land, electricity, and water supply.
Operating as an independent entity under the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment it works closely with relevant authorities and agencies to assist investors in navigating through the application processes.
“Investors can also access valuable information through the entity, gaining insights into the entire investment process, thus enhancing the accessibility and convenience of their endeavours in Sarawak,” said its chief executive officer Timothy Ong.
He was briefing a delegation from the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) led by its president Kong Chiong Ung here recently.
“This initiative underscores the Sarawak government’s commitment to fostering an ideal investment climate by implementing business-friendly policies and initiatives,” ACCCIS said in a statement
“The goal is to bolster the confidence of both local and foreign investors, creating a supportive environment for economic growth and development in the region,” it added.
ACCCIS commended initiatives taken by the company, saying Invest Sarawak is committed to creating a business-friendly environment through collaboration with relevant authorities.
Also present at the meeting were the Secretary-General Datuk Jonathan Chai Voon Tok, the Deputy Secretary-General Andy Yek Hock Siang, the Chairman of Public Relations and Tourism Committee Kuek Eng Mong, as well as a four -member delegation of a prospective investor from Yantai City in China.
Meanwhile, Kong also led a delegation from Yantai City for a courtesy visit to the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) recently.
BDA shared insights into the industrial development plans and infrastructure facilities inside the Samalaju Industrial Park, engaging in in-depth discussions with the investors.
