KOTA SAMARAHAN: In an accident along Jalan Ensengei on Sunday (June 4), a woman tragically lost her life while her husband and son sustained severe injuries.

According to a statement by Kota Samarahan OCPD DSP Brodie Brangka, the collision occurred at around 8.30pm and involved a motorcycle and a multipurpose vehicle (MPV).

The victims, a 38-year-old woman, her 45-year-old husband and their five-year-old son, were travelling on their motorcycle from Asajaya to their home in Kampung Siniawan.

Investigations revealed that the victims’ motorcycle was rear-ended by a 33-year-old man driving a Perodua Alza, who was travelling in the same direction.

“As a result, the rider and his passengers were promptly transported to the Sarawak Heart Centre for immediate medical attention,” stated DSP Brodie.

“Sadly, the wife, who was riding as a passenger, succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment due to internal injuries.”

He added: “Meanwhile, her husband suffered a head injury and her son sustained a broken leg.”

The MPV driver emerged from the collision without any injuries.
