KUCHING: Police have taken appropriate action against the driver of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) who obstructed an ambulance at Kilometre 6, Jalan Sri Aman, Simanggang.
The incident went viral on social media on Jan 5 at around 3 pm.
Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the SUV driver had blocked the path of the ambulance which was carrying a patient to Sri Aman Hospital.
“The police have taken further action towards the driver and will be investigated under Rule 9 LN166/59 for obstructing pathways for ambulances.
Mathew urged all road users to comply with the laws and rules of the road and traffic.
He also reminded the public to allow pathways for ambulance, fire and rescue and police vehicles.
