KUCHING: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii has advised against wearing face masks with valves.
He explained that face masks with valves would only protect the wearer but not the people around them.
“Please do not wear masks with valves. For such masks, exhaled breath bypasses the filter.
“When you breathe in, the air you breathe is being filtered by the mask; when you breathe out, it is not,” he explained in a Facebook post on Tuesday (July 28).
“Proper masking protects the community, not just you,” he emphasised.
