KUCHING: Over 90 specially curated vegan dishes will be served to the delegates of the upcoming Asia for Animals (AfA) conference 2023 in October.
Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) sous chef Lester Antija Dawen said the latest array of plant-based vegan dishes are inspired by nature.
“Since we have an abundance of indigenous vegetables and products here in Sarawak, we aim to showcase creative dishes using native produce only available in Borneo.
“Our dishes are inspired by nature, infused with natural-made sauces and condiments, cooked using open fire and even using bamboo for some dishes to deliver that authentic flavor,” he said in a statement.
The AfA conference is slated to take place from Oct 11 to 14 at the BCCK and it will cover five main areas, namely human and animal health; communication; education and research; animal and human interaction; trade in wildlife; rescue centres and animals in captivity.
The conference is organised by the Asia for Animal Coalition together Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) and supported by Business Events Sarawak.
