KUCHING: Seven entrepreneurs in the Satok constituency received a boost to their businesses with assistance from the Sarawak government’s Agricultural Facilitation Fund (AFF).
Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki presented the recipients with cooking equipment at a simple ceremony at the PBB Satok service centre today (Sept 29).
The beneficiaries were Anisah Abdul Wahed, Bibi Nek Mohamad, Nur Wahidah Abdullah, Tina Bujang, Zaleha Arfan, Siti Suriani Mohamad Sharkawi, and Nazrah Razuki.
In a briefing before the ceremony, Ibrahim urged the entrepreneurs to make the most of the assistance and grow their businesses.
“Ensure that the equipment is used to enhance your production process,” he said.
“This assistance is meant to help you expand your operations.”
The assemblyman hoped that local entrepreneurs would continue to expand their businesses and assured them of the government’s ongoing support.
He also suggested that the Agriculture Department review its procurement process to allow entrepreneurs to purchase business equipment under the AFF scheme from local retailers.
This, he said, would enable entrepreneurs to acquire the necessary equipment at a lower cost.
Also present were political secretary to the Premier Abdul Samat Gany, PBB Satok youth chief Mohd Akram Mohd Karim, and Kuching district agricultural officer Rosahhajah Mohidi.
