MIRI: Three houses in Kampung Long San, Ulu Baram were reportedly destroyed in a fire this afternoon (Nov 7).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call pertaining to the blaze at 1.50 pm.
Firefighters from Marudi station were immediately dispatched to the scene, located about 243km away.
However, there are no new updates on the incident as the team is still en route due to the lengthy journey by road.
Earlier, Marudi station chief confirmed that the emergency call had come from village chief Lusia, who reported the fire involving three wooden houses.
It was understood that the extinguishing work was carried out by the villagers while waiting for the arrival of firefighters.
