Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah

KUALA LUMPUR: The first meeting of the second term of Parliament begins today which will be aired live via television and live stream.

The attention of the whole nation could be focusing on the official opening speech by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah  at the event.

This would be the inaugural speech of His Majesty since being appointed as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 31 this year.

He was scheduled to perform the opening ceremony at 10 am at Parliament Square and later proceed to deliver his official speech at the Dewan Rakyat.

The sitting this time is expected to be interesting with discussions on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) regarding the government’s move to amend Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution at this session to return the original rights of Sabah and Sarawak.

Parliament creates history when the new Member of Parliament for Cameron Highlands Ramli Mohd Nor takes his oath of office on Tuesday.

He is the first Orang Asli to be voted into the Dewan Rakyat after winning the by-election for the Cameron Highlands Parliamentary seat in January.
