KUCHING: Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri believes the appointment of Sadong Jaya assemblyman Aidel Lariwoo as Assistant Infrastructure and Port Development Minister I will bode well for the Batang Sadong constituency.
“My highest congratulations to YB Aidel, who took his oath of office before Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
“This appointment will definitely be of great benefit to Sarawak, and the Batang Sadong constituency,” Nancy, who is Batang Sadong MP, said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Jan 5).
She also extended a congratulatory message to the entire new Sarawak Cabinet line-up.
During the 12th Sarawak Election campaign trail, Aidel said his focus would be on economic development, especially tourism and entrepreneurship.
He said attention would be given to the development of areas with the potential to attract tourists, for example, the fireflies phenomenon along the Batang Sadong river, which could provide opportunities for locals to generate income.
“We have built several landmarks, including iconic towers, waterfront bazaar and the Sadong Jaya Heritage Gallery, which are set to spur economic growth in Sadong Jaya.”
