KUCHING: More talents will be identified and trained for next year’s Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri se-Malaysia (SUKSEM) games.

In stating this, Sarawak state secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said that he wanted the state to maintain its championship in the next few years, as how they achieved it during the SUKSEM games in October 2022.

“Our main goal is to remain as champion in the future alongside improving the government service so that our staff members stay active always,” he said.

He also added that it is important to scout new talents so that its mission can be accomplished.

He said this in his delivery speech during the SUKSEM appreciation ceremony at the Waterfront Hotel in Kuching on Wednesday (Dec 7).

“The unique thing about our state secretarial office is that any agencies of ministries can participate in SUKSEM, just as long as they are public service officers,” he added.

He also hoped that the participants could maintain their outstanding performances as much as possible

For the record, Sarawak emerged as champions during this year’s SUKSEM 2022 games with 51 points after collecting three gold medals, two silver medals and three bronze medals.

There were 10 sports event contested such as football, badminton, takraw, netball and volleyball.

As many as 2,000 athletes alongside governmental officers from 12 contingents participated in the games in Selangor, which was held from October 25 until October 30.

Also present during the appreciation ceremony was deputy state secretary (administration) cum Chef De Mission Datuk Buckland Bangik and other important guests.
