BINTULU: Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee wants complaints concerning community issues or other problems to come through to him via the correct channels.
He is confident of solving the problems faced by the local community this way.
In addition, he also encouraged residents in his constituency to submit complaints and suggestions to the Jepak Community Service Centre.
“What is important is that information reaches the right party from the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and the tribal leaders to make it easier to assist residents in conveying problems to the relevant departments or agencies,” he said.
He said this at the Vaie Community Spirit Programme organised by the Bintulu District Information Department held at Kampung Kuala Segan, here, on Saturday.
Iskandar also highlighted several local issues that he had raised in the recent Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting such as village development schemes, water supply problems and other development issues.
“We don’t talk in coffee shops, we voiced people’s problems in the State Assembly (DUN) after I received information from leaders such as Pemanca, Penghulu and village heads,” he said.
At the event, he also presented donations in the form of food baskets to 32 asnaf groups in Kampung Kuala Segan.
