KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia X Bhd has warned the public of scam messages via WhatsApp claiming to represent the airline or its affiliates and asking the receiver to make a payment into an account allegedly belonging to a credit management company.
In a statement today, it said the airline and its employees have absolutely no involvement in the fraudulent practices and do not make such solicitations.
“AirAsia X does not engage with its guests on any form of messenger application such as WhatsApp,” it said.
It said AirAsia X and AirAsia shall not be held liable for any claims arising from schemes in which it and any of its authorised officers/employees have no involvement.
However, it said it would not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups who purported to use the AirAsia X or AirAsia brand fraudulently or commit identity theft.
It added that the public might get in touch with AirAsia via its official communication channels on Twitter at www.twitter.com/airasia, Instagram at www.instagram.com/airasia and Facebook at www.facebook.com/airasia. – Bernama
