MUKAH: Sergeant Major Ajahar Bakar is the new Mukah District Police Headquarters (IPD) Surau Darul Husna chairman.
He succeeded Insp Mohamad Haslee Shafiee.
A simple handing over of duty ceremony was held at Mukah IPD here recently.
Present to witness the event was Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias.
Meanwhile, Haslee was given the honour to present a sermon during the last Friday prayer at the surau.
Haslee, who is also Mukah IPD Criminal Investigation officer, said Surau Darul Husna has given the green light by the Sarawak Islamic Council to hold Friday prayers since July 1 during the movement control order (MCO).
He added that the Friday prayers were held in strict compliance with the standard operating procedures.
