KUCHING: Our neighbouring country, Brunei Darussalam is the last contingent to register for the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Sarawak 2024.

With this, all 15 contingents participating in the SUKMA games have completed the registration process for its athletes and team officials.

The registration process, which began on August 7, was held at the Grand Margherita Hotel.

The Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM) aimed to confirm the registration of athletes and team officials for the 15 competing contingents.

Any changes to events or athletes can be made during the DRM.

Ongoing dedicated efforts by the parties involved have ensured that all the venues are well prepared for SUKMA XXI before the event kicks off on August 17.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, expressed satisfaction with the commitment shown by all parties involved in ensuring the smooth operation of all SUKMA venues.

He said that it includes arrangements for hospitality, accommodation, and food and beverage services.

He made these comments to the media after visiting all three SUKMA venues in Bintulu on Friday.

Rentap, who is the Chef de Mission (CDM) of the Sarawak contingent said that he was satisfied with the preparations, noting that the three venues were nearly 100 per cent ready to host the events.

Bintulu will host three events for SUKMA- Muay Thai at Paragon Mall, and football and sepak takraw at Stadium Bintulu and Stadium Muhibbah, respectively.

Also present during the visit were Tanjung Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak Angellie Stephen Raja, and Bintulu Division Resident Nyurak Keti.
