KUCHING: Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd and Sime Darby Motors launched the highly-anticipated all-new electric sedan model, BYD Seal, here today.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng who officiated at the launching ceremony, said the BYD Seal model further contributes to the overall goal of promoting eco-friendly transportation options and reducing the carbon footprint.
“It is important to recognise that this initiative aligns perfectly with Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to foster a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society.
“As a nation, we are actively working towards our climate commitments, and electric mobility is a part of this journey.
“BYD’s fully electric cars in general support our collective ambition to transition towards cleaner and greener transportation alternatives, thereby reducing pollution and promoting healthier living for our citizens,” he said at CityOne Megamall here.

Meanwhile, the BYD Seal is the first model equipped with cell-to-body (CTB) technology which integrates the Blade Battery and coupled with a revolutionary iTAC technology.
Also the world’s first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain system it optimises space utilisation and energy efficiency, while the heat pump system enhances thermal efficiency and reduces energy loss across a wide temperature range.
The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds with a fast charging capability of up to 150kW.
Available in Premium and Performance AWD variants, the BYD Seal is available with prices starting from RM183,300 and RM203,300.
Colour options include Arctic Blue (exclusive to the Performance variant), Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, and Aurora White (available for Premium).
For the first 800 bookings, customers will enjoy complimentary wallbox chargers on a first come, first-serve basis, inclusive of those who have booked online earlier.
