SERIAN: The Serian Convention Centre is ready to host the artistic gymnastics event during the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Sarawak 2024 this coming August.
Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said all preparations have been completed and they are now awaiting the arrival of the athletes.
“We have already arranged accommodations, we are just waiting for them (the athletes) to arrive,” he said.
He said this when speaking to reporters after the Baton Relay for SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 today (June 16).
Meanwhile, Deputy State Secretary (Operations) and chief executive officer of SUKMA Sarawak 2024 Datuk Hii Chang Kee said 200 athletes along with 200 technical volunteers will be staying here.
“They will camp and compete in Serian for four days. The residents of Serian are invited to join in celebrating this event by providing strong support to all the athletes,” he added.
For the record, a total of 14 medals will be contested in this event.
