KUCHING: The RM10 million allocation under the Madani Economy can speed up registration process and expand the childcare centre and nursery whitelisting programme in the country.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said, however, the details on the allocation has yet to be obtained.
Still, she hopes that the allocation can be used to increase the number of officers in the field as well as to cover the cost of field trips.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the Madani Economy: Empowering The People initiative on Thursday (July 27), saying that the government will facilitate the registration process and expand the whitelisting programme for unregistered nurseries and child care centres nationwide with an allocation of RM10 million.
According to Fatimah, the Sarawak Government had also provided a special annual grant of RM5,000 to assist registered nurseries and childcare centres to operate.
