SIBU: Amcorp Group has come in for praise for being a proactive developer of the vibrant SubuJaya township.

Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman, Sempurai Petrus Ngelai said he was highly motivated to work closely with the company, ever since his appointment as chairman of the council.

“Amcorp has consistently proven to be a reliable and able partner in SRDC’s effort to bring more services and facilities to SibuJaya.

“The Group has always been on the forefront, alongside the state authorities in the effort to develop SibuJaya,” he said at a “miring” (thanksgiving) ceremony in conjunction with the “Sea of Green” community paddy planting project on Monday (Dec 12).

Sempurai added that Amcorp has also been instrumental in creating innovative and inclusive community centric events such as the Carnival SibuJaya, the SibuJaya Water Fiesta, the GP SibuJaya Motocross and many others through the years.

“We certainly look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Amcorp, for the benefit of the people,” he added.

Sempurai also attributed SibuJaya’s exponential growth to the vision of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“When the Premier was Minister for Housing, he revamped Sibu Jaya and through his visionary masterplan, the township was brought on track to realise its full potential as can be seen so clearly today,” he said.

He said SRDC in collaboration with all relevant government agencies and Amcorp would work towards the full realisation of the Premier’s vision.

The SibuJaya township began in the mid 90’s and to-date there are more than 6,700 residential units with a population or around 35,000 people.
