SIBU: Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, has lauded the assistant medical officers (AMO) for their invaluable contributions to the healthcare system.

Speaking at the Association of Assistant Medical Officer Sibu Hospital (AMOSH)’s annual dinner on Saturday (Oct 12), Tiang acknowledged the long hours, emotional fatigue, and immense responsibility that these healthcare professionals shoulder daily.

“You are the unsung heroes, and it is time we acknowledge your sacrifices,” he said in a speech read by Cr Kevin Lau Kor Jie.

Tiang highlighted the assistant medical officers’ tireless efforts in providing essential healthcare services to the community.

“Their contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of countless individuals,” he said.
He urged the assistant medical officers to remain dedicated to their duties and patients.

“Together, we can cultivate a culture of collaboration and support,” he said.
