KUCHING: Sarawak’s young generation should take advantage of opportunities presented by the arts and culture industry.
Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the Sarawak government is giving significant attention to the arts and culture sector in the state, which is set to create opportunities and space for the younger generation.
He highlighted new platforms like TVS and Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), which showcase the talents of young individuals that were previously untapped.
“These platforms allow our young talent to shine, which was not possible before. But with such platforms, the arts industry is thriving.
“Our youth must seize these opportunities,” he said during a ‘Juh Randau’ talk show organised by UKAS which was aired on Wednesday night.
Fazzrudin, who is also chief political secretary to the Premier, noted that numerous platforms are available, and success depends on individuals’ efforts.
As such, he urged everyone to actively participate in the state’s strategic development, emphasising the need to enhance skills by taking courses at training centres.
He added that acquiring additional skills adds value to one’s profile and opens up more opportunities.
“Knowledge is paramount. Accurate information is essential for effective strategies.
“We must continuously expand our knowledge in various fields; it’s a gradual process.
“Getting knowledge from reliable sources is key. It helps us maintain the unity that Sarawak is known for.
“Without unity, the achievements of past leaders will crumble,” he added.
