There was no need for directions to get to this event as thousands of screaming fans gathered on every floor of the LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre to see Ultraman. To add to the excitement, this event also debuted its new series “Ultraman Blazar”.

Ultraman Asia Tour draws thousands

Thousands of screaming fans flocked to LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre in Kuala Lumpur recently to meet their hero Ultraman.

The mall is the first regional and largest retail facility operated by Mitsui Fudosan in Southeast Asia.

Amazingly, the Ultraman Decker Final Tour: Journey to Blazar event drew an audience large enough to rival a major fashion show.

So, what fashion are we looking at?

For a change, we are not going to talk about fashion, so if you like Ultraman, the Ultra Series, or Tsuburaya Productions, keep reading.

We joined the incredible Discord community that afternoon and envisioned ourselves as either the monster or the hero Ultraman. Costumed characters really slay!

For the two hours we were there, everyone’s faces were brimming with joy and the sound of laughter seemed louder than usual.

Young people and even men in their 30s, 40s, and 50s were dressed in T-shirts and jerseys with jeans and even shorts.

Many parents brought their small children with them to take part in some of the activities.

T-shirts may look simple and casual, but they are a great way to promote yourself, your business, or brand. Many people wore black ones, while others were sporting graphic tees and going through some merchandise, probably looking for the best Ultraman graphic shirts.

Dressed casually, we came to see “Ultraman Blazar” make his debut in Malaysia.

My buddy Ing wore a kimono-style top as she so really wanted to pose with Ultraman, and her wish was granted.

The event, hosted in collaboration with Astro Malaysia, Tsuburaya Productions, and LaLaport Kuala Lumpur, was the first Ultraman fan event held in Malaysia, with the goal of boosting viewership of this beloved Japanese superhero series, particularly among children and teenagers.

Adding to the excitement, this event also unveiled its new series “Ultraman Blazar” for the first time in Malaysia.

To commemorate the occasion, a press conference was held with cast members from the popular franchise, namely Hiroki Matsumoto (Kanata Asumi), Raiga Terasaka (Kengo Manaka), and Yuka Murayama (Ichika Kirino), as well as representatives from Astro (Farah Fauzana, Astro’s Head of Kids Content) and Tsuburaya Productions (Kei Minamitani, Executive Manager of International Business Department).

Meanwhile, Gento Hiruma, the captain of the Special Kaiju Reaction Detachment (SKaRD) established by the Global Guardian Force (GGF), joins forces with Ultraman Blazar to fight against the destruction caused by Kaiju Bazanga, a monster causing great havoc on Earth.

This series stars Tomoya Warabino and Himena Tsukimiya.

Furthermore, the event offered a number of fun activities for both children and parents, such as an Ultraman pop-up store, an inflatable playground for kids, a photo session, and meet & greet opportunities with various Ultraman.

Additionally, there was a display of costumes with Ultraman themes, sculptures of Ultraman and Kaiju throughout LaLaport Kuala Lumpur, screenings of the Ultraman series, and exciting performances by the cast members.

The appearance of popular Malaysian actor Wafiy, who promoted the latest series “Ultraman Blazar” alongside Hiroki, Raga, Yuka, and their fans, added to the excitement.

Fans of Ultraman can watch “Ultraman Blazar” on Astro Ceria (CH 611) every Saturday beginning July 8, 2023, at 8.30pm, on the same day as Japan.
