KUCHING: A delegation from Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (Azam) is currently embark on a study visit to Kuala Lumpur from Oct 14 to 20.

The delegation, comprising of 12 officers, aims to explore new opportunities and strengthen initiatives to empower communities through innovative and relevant development programmes.

“Key destinations include the  Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Centre,  Malaysian Youth Council,  Astro, and several federal agencies.

“These visits are designed to broaden strategic partnerships with national organizations, enabling Azam to learn and adopt best practices that will directly benefit the Sarawak community.
 
“Additionally, the Azam delegation will participate in  Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2024  on Oct 19 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. Azam will establish a  special exhibition booth  at the event, showcasing community development and participatory communication initiatives, along with a flagship product to be launched next year,” Azam said in its press release.

Azam added that through its booth, it aims to attract more young people, particularly  Sarawakian students  in Peninsular Malaysia, to join Azam Young Souls (AYS)  – a key initiative aimed at fostering youth leadership and engagement in community development.

“This will also provide an opportunity to strengthen the connection between Sarawakian students and Azam, enabling them to contribute their ideas and creativity toward Sarawak’s progress,” it added.

On another note, Azam stated that the visit only opens doors for strategic partnerships with national agencies but also gives them the chance to showcase Azam’s well-planned initiatives.

“Some of the agencies we are visiting have long-standing relationships with Azam, and this marks our first visit to their headquarters.

“We believe these exchanges will provide fresh ideas and strategies that can significantly impact Sarawak’s community, making Azam more dynamic and effective in empowering society.”

The visit is expected to further enhance Azam’s position as a leader in delivering impactful programs that benefit the community, ensuring that Sarawak continues to thrive through sustainable development.
