MIRI: An angler in his early 30s was robbed by two strangers while fishing at Kampung Pulau Melayu here.
Fortunately, the angler was unharmed in the 11.30pm incident which reportedly occurred on Wednesday.
According to sources, the victim had gone to the area as it was his favourite fishing spot.
Moments later, two unknown men wearing full face helmets on a motorcycle pulled over.
One of the suspects, who was holding a wooden stick, walked towards the victim, and demanded for the victim’s valuables.
Fearing for his safety, he obliged with their demands.
They took his RM50 cash and gold necklace. The total loss was estimated to be around RM5,000.
He later made a police report on the robbery.
As at press time, no arrest has been made as investigation is still underway.
