KUCHING: Upsets happened yet again in the 38th Premier Sarawak Cup ITF World Tennis Tour Junior J300 (J1) day 4 action as six out of eight top seeded players in both singles categories crashed out of the tournament on Friday.

South Korean number 16 seed Park Seung Min continued his momentum in the quarterfinalof boys singles category by eliminating Uzbek number 11 seed Amir Milushev after two hard-fought sets by 7-6(3), 7-5.

He will face an even tougher test in the semi final against third seed Aryan Shah from India, who defeated the wildcard player Amirkhamza Nasridinov by 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.

There were other two upsets in the boys singles category where Australian number 15 seed PavleMarinkov took down number eight seed Zhang Tian Hui from China with ease by 6-4, 6-2, while number five seed Yuvan Nandal from India defeated Australian second seed Charlie Camus by 6-2, 7-5.

Both of them will meet in the last four bout for a spot in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile in the quarter finals of the girls singles action, Polish number six seed Zuzanna Pawlikowska took down Australian first seed Emerson Jones with two sets of 6-4.

She will face number four seed Vlada Mincheva in the semi final, who defeated Australian number eight seed Zara Larkeby 6-4, 6-3.

Both unseeded players, Amy Sucha from Czech Republic and Daria Gorska continued their momentum as they marched into the last four by defeating number seven seed Vivian Yang from New Zealand (6-3, 7-6) and number 11 seed Kristiana Sidorova (2-6, 6-3, 6-2) respectively.

Both will meet in the semi final to decide who will be the only unseeded player left in the final on Sunday.
