MUKAH: Sarawak’s women’s netball team suffered their second straight defeat in the SUKMA Group B competition today (Aug 18), going down 56-53 to Terengganu at the Politeknik Mukah Hall.

The team, coached by Katherine Khoo Sen Sen, had shown promise but ultimately fell short against a determined Terengganu side.

Sarawak had earlier lost to Kedah 48-45 on Saturday.

Sarawak Netball Association president Datin Ellis Suriati Omar praised her team’s effort but acknowledged their misfortune.

“Similar to yesterday’s game, we led at various points but couldn’t hold onto the advantage,” she said.
“We need to stay focused on the upcoming matches, and I’m confident that the coach’s strategy will be effectively executed, enabling the players to secure a win.”

Despite the setbacks, Suriati believed Sarawak could bounce back.

Their next challenge is against Selangor tomorrow (Aug 19) at 8.30am.
