KUCHING: Yet another landslide occurred yesterday morning at a road leading to Matang Wildlife Centre.
State Fire and Rescue (Bomba) Fire Operations assistant director Tiong Ling Hii said the landslide happened again due to heavy downpour yesterday morning.
“The road cannot be used as it requires a bulldozer to clear it.
“At the moment, I am not able to let you know when the road will reopen because it depends on the bulldozing work which is under the district council,” he added when contacted.
The Public Works Department (JKR) last Friday (Dec 27) said in a press statement that the land clearing work was expected to be completed yesterday (Dec 31).
“Due to the relatively serious and unstable landslides from the recent wet weather, the clearing work will take some time,” it added.
