KUCHING: The State Health Department today (May 25) declared another new cluster in the Miri district.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the Jalan Dato Permaisuri cluster in Miri was from a social gathering of mass eating on May 1 that was attended by 10 people.
It added that of the 176 individuals screened, 31 including the index case were positive while 123 were negative. The rest were awaiting laboratory results.
SDMC said all the positive cases were referred to the Miri Hospital and admitted to the Low-Risk Treatment Centre there for isolation and further treatment.
The committee today also announced the end of two clusters in the state, namely the Jalan Kapitan cluster in Marudi and the Pujut Satu cluster in Miri.
No cases were reported from the clusters in the last 28 days.
Sarawak now has 84 active clusters; nine of them have recorded 52 new cases.
