KUCHING: Sarawak has reported another workplace cluster – Cluster Jalan Jambusan 2 in Bau today (July 20).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily report said the cluster started at a workplace, involving supermarket employees at Jalan Jambusan, in Bau.
A total of 99 individuals were screened, with 11 of them testing positive for the virus, including the index case, while 43 tested negative for the virus.
Another 45 individuals are still awaiting laboratory test results.
All positive cases from this cluster are currently being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRCs) here.
Meanwhile, the Kampung Kolong 2 Cluster in Kuching has ended after no new local transmission cases were reported in the 28 days.
There are still 91 active clusters in the state, in which eight clusters reported additional cases today.
A total of 34 additional cases were reported in the Bedup Longgo Cluster in Serian, followed by Sentosa 2 Cluster in Kuching (17), Sungai Sengkabang Cluster in Subis (six), and Tema Saan Cluster in Tebedu, Sega Cluster in Bau, Duyoh Cluster in Bau, Mukah Wet Market Cluster in Mukah, and Jalan Selalang Cluster in Sarikei (one each).
For the Covid-19 zone status, Asajaya and Sri Aman districts have changed from orange to yellow after a total of 17 and 14 local transmission cases respectively were reported.
On the bright side, Tanjung Manis district, which was previously a yellow zone, is now a green zone after no new local transmission cases were reported in the past 14 days.
Nineteen districts are still categorised as red zones namely, Beluru, Betong, Lundu, Saratok, Tebedu, Telang Usan, Bau, Meradong, Tatau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.
