KUCHING: Children of two persons, who are under the observation of the Sarawak National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), yesterday received school supplies from Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd.

Present to hand over the donations at Serapi Hotel here was its general manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah.

Zainal told reporters that this was the first time they (Harwood Timber) collaborated with the Sarawak AADK.

“This is our annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to help those in need.

“However, today’s event is different. We help the children of Sarawak AADK clients who are still under observation.

“We hope this programme would change the people’s perception of individuals under the AADK’s supervision as well as their families,” he said at the ‘Back to School: Nang Best ke Sekolah’ closing ceremony.

In addition, he also hoped that the children of the individuals under AADK’s supervision would be given equal opportunities as the children of other individuals.

“Educate our children spiritually, physically and mentally because they are our heirs and they would probably become leaders of the nation someday.

“I hope today’s contribution would help enhance the motivation of the children of Sarawak AADK clients to excel in their studies,” he said.

At the same time, Zainal Abidin called on individuals or companies to donate to AADK clients’ children so that they would not feel marginalised.

Also present was Sarawak AADK chief Sharifah Azimah Said Ismail.
