KUCHING: Anti-rabies vaccination programme in Kuching District will be continued in Zone B involving Samariang, Petra Jaya and Gita, from 9am to 11am and 2pm – 5pm, starting from April 23.

This time the exercise, to be carried out by staff members of the State Veterinary Department, will be from door-to-door, the department said yesterday.

The areas to be covered by the exercise from 9am to 11am will be Taman Foong Joon, Taman Kubah Jaya, Taman Hwa Ling, Taman Ria Liew, Taman Sri Sarapi, Taman Gita Jaya, Taman Kandis, Taman Peaceful, Taman Sejoli, Taman Ibnu Hashim, Taman Monah, Taman Trinora, Taman Hijrah, Rancangan Perumahan Rakyat, Jalan Astana, Kampung Tuanku Fasa 2, Kampung Tupong Batu, Semariang Fasa II, Kampung Sungai Midin, Taman Abrar, Kampung Semariang Batu and Taman Sukma.

From 2pm – 5pm, the exercise will be carried out at Taman Fitrah, Taman Rose, Taman Aichi, Kampung Gita, Taman BG Ry, Taman Rahmat, Taman Hipni, Laman Gemalam, Kampung Tupong Hulu, Taman Suriza, Kampung Malaysia Jaya, Kampung Tanjung, Kampung Lintang, Kampung Bedil Besar, Taman Sepawie, Taman Daya Riang, Kampung Semariang, Kampung Semariang Pinggir, Taman Pelita Jaya dan Desa Guru.

The department advised residents in the Zone B areas, not to unnecessarily panic when officers knock on their doors.

“Instead, make full use of the opportunity to get your pet dogs to be vaccinated for free,” the department advised dog owners.

The anti-rabies vaccination programme will be carried out in areas under the jurisdiction of Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) and Kuching South City Council (MBKS), according to zones, from today until May 2.

The exercise is the Phase Three of the Integrated Operations against the spread of rabies.
