MIRI: Local traders at Miri Wireless Walk are anticipating the reopening of the Sarawak-Brunei border after months of closer following the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to its chairman Mohamad Abdullah Jamin, since the recovery movement control order (RMCO) was imposed, half of the 62 traders at Miri Wireless Walk along the Jalan North Yu Seng here have been reopening their businesses.

However, the number of customers coming to the area was less compared to period before the coronavirus spread.

“We have started operating during Ramadan in stages,” said Mohamad Abdullah.

He added that customers have been reminded to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set up by the authorities.

He explained that every stall at Miri Wireless Walk has implemented the one-metre gap for tables to ensure social distancing, apart from carrying out temperature screenings.

“Every customer is also required to give their names and contact numbers, wear face masks and clean their hands using the hand sanitisers provided,” he said.
